About

Background and Aims

Globalization and technological advancement have influenced the growth of language varieties in the world throughout the years. Thus, the language learning practices needs to adapt and sometimes adopt the changes. Yet, through multiliteracies pedagogy and the Lingua Franca concept within multicultural societies, practitioners and researchers could move along with the changes reflecting in the transformation of all aspects in their life, especially the cultural and linguistic diversity. As a result, more studies on multiliteracies, multicultural, and Lingua Franca open dialogues and highlight the understanding of the contemporary world we live in today.

With its 15 years of experience in the teaching and research on language, literature, and culture, Faculty of Language and Literature Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (FPBS UPI) hosts this year’s international conference in webinar form with theme "Multiliteracies, Multiculture, and Lingua Franca: Contemporary perspectives in language and literature studies". The webinar provides a forum for experts and professionals in this time of social distancing, to share their experiences, ideas, and visions.
