Title of Presentation: How Digital Literacies are Reshaping the New Oratory:  Implications for Teaching Language and Literature

Short Bio: Douglas K. Hartman is Professor of Technology & Human Learning in the College of Education at Michigan State University. He serves on faculties in the Languages & Literacies and Educational Technologies programs.  Dr. Hartman has authored more than 70 journal articles, book chapters, technical reports, and book reviews.  Among his publications are:  chapters in the Handbook of Multiple Source Use, Handbook of Reading Research, Handbook of Research on Teaching the English Language Arts, and Handbook of Research on Literacy & Diversity; a research review that examines the shift “From Print to Pixels:  The evolution of cognitive conceptions of reading comprehension”; and an essay on “The Influence of Media on Literacy in the Next Millennium” in Reading Research Quarterly. Dr. Hartman's research interests focus on technology, learning, literacy and language in global contexts. Dr. Hartman received the prestigious Albert J. Kingston Award from the Literacy Research Association for distinguished scholarly service to the field of literacy. 

Title of Presentation: Learning Strategies and Learner Autonomy: Teachers Struggles through Digital Technologies in Language Teaching

Short Bio: Nenden Sri Lengkanawati is Professor of English Education at Indonesia University of Education, Bandung and obtained her doctoral degree in language education at the university. She teaches ELT methodology and curriculum development. She has presented papers on ELT issues in national as well as international conferences and published articles in journals and as book chapters in the area of ELT teaching and learning. Her publications include among others articles on learner autonomy published in Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics, UPI Press,  and LEA Cambodia, and on research in ELT in Indonesia as a coauthor published in Language Teaching journal by Cambridge University Press.
